About the CourseDevelopment coaches are the most important people in tennis development. They promote tennis at the grass roots level and introduce tennis into schools and clubs through modified programs. The emphasis is placed on fun and participation whilst learning so young players remain in the sport. Development coaches take children from beginner level up to a stage where they are competing in modified competitions. This course is designed to help coaches understand why athletes participate in sport, prepare them to teach skills of the sport (using the Game Based Approach), and to design safe, enjoyable and challenging practises and games for pre-schoolers and juniors, through to adult beginners.
